Terms of Use

Last Updated: July 2026

Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms", "Terms of Use") carefully before using the SeafarerVault mobile application (the "Service") operated by Sebastian Prochnicki, doing business as SeafarerVault ("us", "we", or "our").

By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms then you may not access the Service.

1. Organizational Tool

SeafarerVault is provided as an organizational tool only. It does not replace official records, company procedures, or legal requirements for maintaining valid maritime documentation.

2. Subscriptions and Free Trial

SeafarerVault offers a 7-day free trial. After the trial period, the Service is billed on a subscription basis ("Subscription"). You will be billed in advance on a recurring and periodic basis (annually).

Current pricing is displayed in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store and may change in the future. Billing cycles are managed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. If you cancel, you will retain access to the app until the end of your current billing cycle.

3. Data Loss & Responsibilities

SeafarerVault is designed to work completely offline. Your documents and data are stored locally on your device. We do not keep copies of your documents on any cloud servers. Therefore, if you lose your device, uninstall the app without creating a backup, or if your device gets damaged, your data cannot be recovered by us.

You are solely responsible for maintaining secure backups of your data. We cannot restore lost documents or recover deleted data under any circumstances.

4. Reminders and Compliance

SeafarerVault provides notification features to remind you of expiring documents. However, this is provided as a tool for convenience. It remains your sole responsibility as a maritime professional to ensure your licenses, medical certificates, and other documents are valid and renewed on time. We are not liable for any missed expiries or consequences resulting from them.

5. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. In no event shall SeafarerVault, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service.

6. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Scotland.

7. Changes

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to discontinue or modify the Service at any time. If the Service is discontinued, your data stored locally on your device will remain accessible unless the application is removed from your device.
